We stock Greek Pots in three distinct styles and finishes – red terracotta with a rough finish, slightly paler red terracotta with a smooth finish and much paler creamy coloured terracotta typical of the pots produced on the Island of Crete. Rough Pots – Agria translated from Greek means ‘rough and wild’ and this aptly describes the unusual finish on our rough pots, achieved by dipping the pot before firing causing the surface to form tiny bubbles which burst. Our stock of rough pots ranges from tiny bowls to tall elegant urns as well as amphorae on stands. Smooth Pots – Leéa is Greek for smooth and silky and is the name we have chosen for our second type of pots. Some are plain and some have patterns of swirls and lines artistically added by the potter when thrown to his satisfaction! Leéa pots are available in many shapes and sizes from tiny plain pots to urns and the like in sizes up to some 70 centimetres high. Cretan Pots – Cretan Pots are made to exceptional quality and durability and are guaranteed against damage by frost. Once utilitarian, the shapes now provide a focal point in many a garden, home, office, hotel or shopping area. Many are still made to the same designs used by the Minoans 4000 years ago!
